ADMISSIONS TO SECONDARY SCHOOL

Children who are in Year 6 will transfer to Year 7 at secondary school at the start of their next academic year.  Admissions to apply to your preferred secondary school open on 1st September and the National deadline for applications is is 31st October. Applications received after this date will be treated as 'late'.   There is no priority for applications received earlier with in the application window; all 'on time' applications will be dealt with equal priority.

Top Tips: 

• Consider at least three schools in your local area

• Look at the schools’ websites and social media platforms to inform your decision.

• Attend the open evenings with your child- this is really important for getting a feel for the school and whether their ethos and culture is right for your child. 

• Even if you are certain that you have a number one choice, it is vital that you put a second AND third choice on your application. Putting only one choice could result in your child being allocated a school a considerable distance from where you live.
