Autumn Term message from Mrs Cropper:

Welcome Back Year 5,

We’re thrilled to welcome our wonderful Year 5 pupils back for a brand-new school year! We hope you had a fantastic summer break and are feeling refreshed, recharged and ready for all the exciting adventures ahead. This term is packed with fun, learning and discovery.
Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dig deep—literally! We’ll be exploring the past by searching for historic artifacts and uncovering fascinating stories from Ancient China. Who knows what treasures we might find? In science, we’ll be investigating forces through hands-on experiments that will spark curiosity and creativity. Prepare to test, observe, and discover how the world around us works! We’re also heading out on an exciting trip to Preston! It’ll be a brilliant opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and collect some data for our Geography learning.

As always, reading remains a key part of our learning journey. Please make sure you’re keeping up with your reading at home.

Meeting Jenny McLachlan: Inspiring Young Writers

Posted: Mar 26, 2024 by: year5 teacher (S.Cropper) on: Year 5 Blog

We were thrilled to have a video call on Friday with the incredibly talented Jenny McLachlan, author of the popular book Stink, which is one of our FBA books. She shared her inspiring journey of becoming a writer, encouraging us to embrace the power of our imaginations through reading and writing. To make the experience even more special, Jenny gave us a lesson on drawing the fairy Stink from her book. It was a great session that has ignited our passion for writing and creativity. Let's dive into the magical world of Stink and explore our own imaginations! If you haven't read it already, please borrow a copy from school.
