Summer Term message from Mrs Mason:
Over the next term we will be having fun and learning under the topic titles Build It Up, Big wide World, Animal Safari and On the Beach. We will be learning new phase 5 sounds in phonics and learning to 'speedy read the sounds and words we already know. We will be writing through the amazing texts; Weirdo by Zadie Smith, So Much by Helen Oxenbury, The Night Pirates by Pete Harris, Hairy Maclary by Linley Dodd and many more. In Maths we will be exploring patterns, doubles, halving and gaining a deep understanding of numbers 11-20. Each week we will explore our school grounds on our Wellington walk, take a trip to the beach, visit the local library and nursing home. We will also take part in our St Thomas' sports day, go on a school trip and have some very special 'feathered' visitors to look after. It is going to be an action packed term, filled with summer time fun and learning. Sun hats, sun cream and a filled water bottle at the ready!
