- Green Flag Status
Green Flag Status
21 January 2020 (by Catherine Ide (c.ide))
After three years of hard work by the schools 'ECO Warriors' we have been awarded GREEN FLAG status.
The children in school have been recycling, reducing and reusing.
We have been working towards a 'plastic is not fantastic' campaign.
We have planted over 200 saplings, grown wild flower gardens, made mini beast homes, bird feeders and hedgehog houses.
We have taken part in litter picking, beach cleans and campaigned in the community to encourage businesses to refill peoples water bottles.
We are a Fairtrade school and a Forest School.
We have taken part in Energy ECO pod initiatives such as 'The Big Switch Off' and 'The Big Battery Hunt'.
We also take part in the BIG SCHOOLS BIRD WATCH collecting data for the RSPB.
We will continue our existing initiatives and work towards helping other areas towards saving our planet.
To see what we do please check out our website using the Forest School, Eco Club and Extra curricular club pages.
