GOSPEL Values
As a whole school family, we are proud that our nine Gospel Values are embedded at the heart of all we do. The nine values we have chosen underpin all that we do as a school and promote the teaching of Christian values. It is the Christian tradition that gives our values content and the story of Jesus that gives our values moral substance.
All of our Gospel Values are thought about and reflected on daily throughout school as we link them, and the teachings of Jesus, to our own thoughts and actions.
In addition to this, each class studies one Value in depth - further exploring and developing their understanding of the Value through undertaking a variety of creative activities.

British Values
At St Thomas’ we recognise, not only the importance of helping pupils to flourish academically but also spiritually, morally, socially and culturally, so that they are fully prepared for life in British society and for their role as responsible citizens. The promotion of ‘British Values’ is central to our education because British values have their origin in the Christian Values of our nation.
At St Thomas’ Primary we uphold and teach about British Values within the framework of our Christian Values. These British Values are defined as:
- Democracy
- Rule of law
- Individual liberty
- Mutual respect
- Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
- These values are integral to our vision and day to day life at school. They are also reinforced in whole school assemblies and through timetabled sessions within our broad and balanced curriculum.
